Today, November 20th, is Yamanashi Prefecture Day. So... when I say "Yamanashi Prefecture" what first comes to mind? I love reading people's answers to these type of questions! It's very interesting how sometimes we all think of something different, and sometimes the same! About Yamanashi Prefecture day; https://www.city-cost.com/blogs/BigfamJapan/GB7VA-living_yamanashi

The first thing that came to mind for me was definitely Mount Fuji! In close second was peaches and grapes, since I know Yamanashi produces a lot of them. One of my favorite travel memories here is from a ryokan in Yamanashi called Konansou. It has really incredible views of Mount Fuji and the food was excellent, too!

Grapes and wine. A coworker brought back a box of Shine Muscat grapes from her hometown there. The grapes are huge and flavourful.

@TonetoEdo I don't think I've tried any Yamanashi wine, but I can definitely see how they'd produce some good stuff since their grapes are top notch.

@genkidesu I'm starting to warm up to Japanese wine varieties and look out for Yamanashi wines. Here's some info from Yamanashi Prefecture - https://www.pref.yamanashi.jp/bishubiken/en/wine.html

@TonetoEdo 90 wineries in the region! I had no idea how big the scale of their wine production was.

@genkidesu I've tried a few low-priced wines produced in Japan. They're super-fruity. I'll see if there are any Yamanashi wines at my local and review them.

Fruit...nashi in particular. Even in west Japan a lot of the fruit is from there.
