What is your favorite cherry blossom and flower combination?

What is your favorite "cherry blossom x " scene? Yesterday, I shared a photo of cherry blossoms with baby blue eyes and today, one of cherry blossoms, tulips and viola. I will also be sharing canola, hanadaikon, Torii etc. I'm just curious, what is your favorite combination?

Yanagi or weeping willow, often planted along rivers, like sakura. I think along the lines of torii, the scenes of the gondola style boats near the shrine in Yanegawa, Fukuoka in spring was lovely.

I'm a big fan of sakura and nanohana together, I think there's something really beautiful about the pastel pink and the vibrant yellow!

@genkidesu I love that combination too. Yellow and red are my favorite colors in nature, so the nanohana (canola) x sakura combo is a must visit scene each year. :)

Here in "Chitama", the Chiba and Saitama regions, we see yukiyanagi, forsythia, and cherry trees blooming together. This cherry blossom season was immediately followed by hanamizuki, the dogwood trees, right next to them.

@TonetoEdo this is the first year I saw dogwood and somei yoshino bloom together. I really like forsythia and cherry blossoms blooming together. There is a gorgeous spot in Kitamoto with the combination.

@BigfamJapan I was surprised to see dogwood, hanamizuki, blooming right on the heels of somei yoshino in my region of Chiba Prefecture (Chiba-kun's nose). Every year at Shimizu Park, often rated among the top 100 cherry blossom spots, we see forsythia, yukiyanagi, and cherry burst into bloom simultaneously.

Condiments in your fridge?

Just for fun! I was thinking the other day how different the contents of my fridge are to the fridge I grew up with! Just one example, I always have soy sauce in my fridge and usually at least one other unopened bottle in the cupboard. There was never soy sauce in my fridge growing up. And the friends I grew up with don't have soy sauce in their fridges even now. But my Uni friends all have soy sauce in their fridges, because they all lived in Japan for at least a year. I was just wondering what things do you have in your fridge here that you probably wouldn't have in your fridge in your home country had you never lived here.

Golden Week 2025 plans?

This year's Golden Week gives us Tuesday, April 29th, and then potentially a four-day weekend from May 3rd to 6th. How are you intending to spend the break? Will you travel, "staycation", or dare I ask, work through it?
