Menya Ken

Generous char siu pork, gingery broth

Menya Ken is a ramen restaurant in the Nagaoka area of Niigata, and I particularly like the ramen here thanks to their generous char siu pork portions, and their zingy, gingery broth. It's the perfect meal for a chilly day, and prices are fairly on par with what I'd expect from most ramen restaurants. They're closed on Mondays, and on weekdays they take a break between their lunch and dinner sittings -- on weekends, however, they work right through. Easy and plentiful parking right outside.
