The Nakayama Kaido shopping street is the sloping approach to historical Hokekyoji temple in Ichikawa City. You won't see many chain shops here, as the shopping street has many independent businesses. Bestie is just beyond the Kuromon, the black gate that straddles the street. The menu is not extensive - sweets, drinks, and hot dogs are the fare here. We had cheesecake and oshiruko for about 600 yen each. The cafe has a lot of "zakka", sundries, and at the back a surf shop. The shop keeper also posts pamphlets and posters about local events that give you a feel for what's going on and how vibrant the community is.
