If you visit Takamatsu, the place you 110% have to visit is Ritsurin Garden. It has a history dating back to the 16th century, and it has been designated as a "Special Place of Scenic Beauty" - it 100% warrants that title. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, and if you can manage a weekday visit you shouldn't find it crowded at all. Highly recommended!
