Lido Park Resort Hachijojima

Affordable and spacious resort hotel

This hotel is located a few kilometers north of Sokodo Port on Hachijojima Island. It's wedged between Hachijofuji, the mountain that dominates the island, and the beach. I stayed here two nights, and would go again. The rooms are spacious, modern and clean, and have ensuite bathrooms. The breakfast has something for everybody, with western style and Japanese style breakfast buffet. The buffet is a great introduction to the produce, seafood, and dairy from the island. When I visited, it was too chilly to swim in the outdoor pool, so I enjoyed the onsen with both indoor and outdoor baths. The resort has rental electric bicycles that should get you to the far side of the island on a day ride. On the beach below is a dairy for the Jersey cattle herd. Early risers can watch the cows being milked. It's a good choice for a relaxing solo getaway and for families, too.
