Huge portions of Indian halal food
Ashikaga City's got plenty of eateries and coffee shops featured on the tourism maps, but this one isn't. What drew me in was the aroma when I passed by the kitchen window. The restaurant is clean, simply decorated, and has a pictorial menu in English and Japanese. I want to caution you about the size of the plates. The chicken biriyani for 1200 yen is a huge portion of fried rice with a leg of chicken hidden under it, enough to feed two people. The dish is served with a lightly spicy sauce and raita. The flavors are complex and rich. If you're a solo diner, go for one of the sets of lighter fare.
