The Murakami area of Niigata is Japan's northernmost tea growing region, and Fuji Misono is a great place to check out if you want to stock up on local tea or tea making goods like teapots, cups, whisks, and so forth. The actual exterior of the store is absolutely charming, too. The staff provide tea samples if you want to try before you buy, and there's even tea flavored ice cream if you want a sweet treat.
