Bites of Japan #16 - Staple Udon chain

My coworker had introduced me to this chain of Udon shops as "the most affordable decent Udon you will find Japanese school kids and office workers lining up for". Which was quite visible as per the long queue of customers in line during the lunch hours. The concept is simple. You pick your choice of tempura and your bowl of udon which they prepare for you right away and you pay at the counter. Can't get simpler than this. Once you pick up your food tray you can head to the toppings corner to add any garnishes. My recommendation - Fried Tofu Udon (Kitsune) with shrimp and mixed vegetable tempura (Kakiage)
