Eye catching ... for the wrong reason!
I am glad that genkidesu mentioned that this statue is known as the golden turd. I always thought that's exactly what it looked like, but thought maybe it was just me! You can see it from miles away, it really catches the eye. There is a great view of it from along the Sumida river and it does make a catching photo! Especially as Skytree is in the view. It is called the Asahi Flame as it is positioned on the top of the Asahi Group Head Office's Super Dry Hall.

Tokyo is home to some really fun architecture, and one thing that I think cops a lot of flack but is actually an icon on the skyline is the Asahi Flame. It gets a bit of ridicule and is often referred to by its nickname of the golden turd, but I genuinely think the uniqueness of it makes it super memorable. I always find myself snapping a pic of it whenever I'm in the area!
