He lights up when you visit

This small Jodo sect temple is tucked in behind an optician's shop close to the center of town. The figure here is Enma-sama, the God of Hell. He's the largest statue to this deity in the city. A motion sensor turns the lights on when you approach and you can peer in. He's the focus of two festivals a year and students come here to pray for academic success.
