Special occasion French-Japanese fusion
Palace Hotel Omiya, adjacent to Sonic City, is just a few minutes' walk from Omiya Station. It's a modern hotel that riffs on the design and service of the elegant Palace Hotel Tokyo. I haven't stayed in the rooms, but enjoyed a few meals at the venue. The service is impeccable, the staff attentive, and the decor is modern yet timeless. The banquet halls serve French-Japanese fusion cuisine, led by the chefs at the Crown Restaurant on site. The course meals have a lovely rhythm, alternating between French and Japanese dishes with ingredients primarily sourced in Saitama Prefecture. The dishes contrast flavours, colours, and textures. The hotel has six restaurants, a bar, a cafe, and a bakery with a focus on washoku and French cuisine.
