For a hearty Asian-style lunch at a reasonable price, Tsumugi on Tateyama City's beachfront can't be beaten. For 1400 yen, you get a lunch set with a big helping of either a noodle or rice-based Asian-inspired dish. I opted for Taco Rice and wasn't disappointed as the dish is much like the fare I've eaten on Okinawa trips. Other options include Indonesian nasi goren and Thai tom yan gun ramen. I have confidence that the chef's various dishes are close to the real thing because the kitchen had the characteristic aromas, at once South East Asian and East Asian. You can see the chef's memorabilia all over the tastefully decorated cafe to give you a sense of her culinary and cultural experience.
