The description
A simple chicken sandwich with a lightly seasoned crispy patty, shredded lettuce, and creamy mayo in a soft bun, offering an easy, familiar fast‑food bite.
The good
The McChicken (Sandwich) is my go-to burger in recent years. For more than 20 years the Big Mac was my go-to, but it stopped agreeing with me (in Japan) a few years ago and I switched to McChicken. The one in this photo is one of the "bai", like a double size. I love that concept in the Japanese McDonald's - they don't have it in my home country. The McChicken delivers a dependable mix of crisp chicken and cool lettuce, held together by a creamy mayo that feels comforting and familiar. Its mild seasoning makes it approachable for many.
The not so good
More than the taste, the McChicken is my go-to because it's easy on the stomach. Don't get me wrong: I still like the taste, but it just isn't as flavorable as a Big Mac or some of the other meat burgers available at the fast-food restaurant chain. In addition, the mayo sometimes overwhelms the flavor, and the lettuce can arrive uneven or wilted depending on the store. But, all that being said, I will continue to buy it when I want something tasty from McDonald's that won't upset my tummy! Overall, it’s reliable if not particularly memorable.
