Is Pampas grass your birthday "flower"?

Although not a flower in the typical sense, pampas grass is the birthday 'flower' of October 22nd. The miniature rose, which I already introduced on October 7th, is also the flower of October 22nd.

Pampas grass is also sometimes called Japanese silver grass. It is a symbol of autumn in Japan. It grows wild in the mountains and fields throughout Japan and has long been loved by the Japanese people. It is one of the seven herbs of autumn. The flower language of pampas grass is "vitality" and "connection of hearts."

There are several theories about the origin of the word "Susuki," including that "Susu" refers to the plant growing upright, and "Ki" means grass or stem. Its other name, "Obana," comes from the fact that the spikes, swaying in the wind, resemble an animal's tail. It is also called "kaya" and is used as a material for thatched roofs.
