The description

This is a Lawson Convenience Store bakery product which they describe as a cream puff roll with chocolate and whipped cream. The chocolate is small cubes of chocolate.

The good

I've had some luck with Lawson Convenience Store own brand bakery products recently so today I picked up another one I don't think I've tried before. I was drawn to both the cream and small chunks of chocolate on top! However, I didn't realize that the 'bread' was more like a sweet pastry. They call it a cream puff roll, in English, but I didn't / don't know what that means. To me, it was like crepe or a dough of some description glazed with or cooked in egg. It wasn't particularly nice to be honest.

The not so good

That wasn't the only negative of this product, in my humble opinion. The chocolate chunks, small chocolate cubes, on top of the product fall off easily. Just with opening the package I lost two pieces! Moreover, the chocolate isn't very good. It isn't dairy chocolate from what I can tell. It wasn't bitter but it wasn't sweet either. It also was soft rather than hard. Hard would have created a better texture in this product. However, the softness of the cubes of chocolate might be more down to the extremely hot weather we had today, rather the a product fault. The cream was okay. It was relatively filling. Overall it didn't leave a particularly good impression and I doubt I will buy it again.
