Chiba Prefecture Charms - Chiba's prefectural holiday
A while ago, I told you about taking advantage of prefectural holidays. Not all celebrate the history and culture with a holiday, but many in the Kanto region do. Residents and visitors can visit attractions for free or reduced admission on this prefectural day off. The prefecture I live in, Chiba, goes all out on June 15th as a thank you to workers and residents of the prefecture.
A freebie, the iris garden at Noda Sogo Park in June
Chiba Prefecture’s government website has PDFs with information about events in the prefecture's five regions. Some highlights are reduced or free admission for children to attractions. Check out zoos, farms, and Kamogawa Sea World.
Chiba Prefectural Charms is my series of stories about this lovely and varied place to live and work. Check out the previous post in this series, Chiba Prefectural Charms - Antique Houses.

Wish we had one of these holidays in Niigata! Looks like a great way to get out and about on a budget and enjoy some of what the prefecture has to offer.

@genkidesu Too bad, Niigata Prefecture isn't on the list. However, some of your neighbours do, such as Gunma and Tochigi.
