Mosquito bites and blood types
Here in Japan, blood type (A, B, O, AB) is often treated like a personality indicator, similar to how horoscopes are used in other parts of the world. The idea is that your blood type reveals something about your nature, compatibility with others, and even your behavior at work or in relationships.
While I personally don’t know how true that is, one thing that I have found interesting is research about blood types and mosquito bites…something that I feel is pretty useful to know at this time of the year. I know that in our local area, certain places are mosquito havens because of the sitting water in the rice fields, which some of you might be able to relate to.
Some blood types actually attract mosquitos! Basically, research has found that the little biters are more enthusiastic about type O blood, and less interested in type A, B, or AB blood. This seems to ring pretty true in my own household, as my husband (type O blood) gets bitten way more than I do (type A blood).
If you and other members of our family or friendship group have different blood types, do you notice a difference in who gets bitten by mosquitos more?

That's very interesting. I'm O and my husband is B, he gets bit more than me! Something that really baffles me is that they never bothered me the first ten years I was here and then they just started one summer and now I get bit a lot. I would love to know what's different - do I smell different or something XD
