The description
This product is the new Cacao Espresso Affogato Frappuccino, and it's a limited time offering available from Starbucks stores. It's priced at a (fairly absurd) 900 yen.
The good
I don't really have a whole lot of vices, but trying out new Starbucks frappuccinos could be classed as one of them. This new Cacao Espresso Affogato Frappuccino combines two things I love (coffee and chocolate!) so I was obviously pulled to try it out. The base frap flavor is chocolate, but then a shot of espresso is added in, and then the whole thing is topped with whipped cream and chocolate flakes. You also get a waffle cookie (it comes individually wrapped and you can add it in, or eat it alone if you'd prefer) so it does feel a bit fancier than their regular frappuccino offerings.
The not so good
I'm at the point now where I'm a bit like "where does it stop?" with prices going up. I love a Starbucks frap as a treat, but this one is 900 yen! Yes, you get the waffle cookie with it, which is nice, but it's not 200 yen nice (I'm basing that off most fraps being around 700 yen-ish). I still enjoyed this a great deal, and if the price was better I would probably give it five stars. However, for 900 yen I really can't say that it's anything mind blowingly good. If you can justify the price, go for it, but I think in good conscience I can't really say to others that this is one I'd super recommend, even if it is delish.
