A lot of fast food chains jump on the tsukimi bandwagon with various burger offerings at this time of year, but if you're after a sweet treat instead of something savory, I would suggest heading in to your nearest Beard Papa store. They're currently selling a tsukimi choux, and it's delicious and fun! The whole premise of this item is that it's meant to be multi-textural, and it comes with a thick custard cream, a chewy mochi layer, and the crunchy choux pastry. I thought this was a fun approach, and the dollop of custard in the middle does give off that moon appearance to the product!

Obviously, since this is a limited time thing you only have a short window of time to get your hands on it. I loved the flavors and textures in this one, so I am a little disappointed that it will only be around for a little while. If you don't like lots of textures in your desserts, this might not be the best product for you, though, so just factor that in to your purchasing decisions. Overall, I loved it, and think it's a fun alternative to the tsukimi burger proliferation that happens during September.
