The description
This product is an apple pie with Hokkaido milk cream, and it's a limited-time/seasonal offering available from Tully's stores. It was priced at 370 yen including tax.
The good
I'm a really big fan of when large-scale chains use Japanese produce for the items they sell, and this apple pie from Tully's uses domestic apples (I'm assuming from Aomori, but they didn't specify). The pie also incorporates a Hokkaido milk cream, so it's a double whammy of domestically-sourced items. In terms of appearance, this is less of a traditional-looking pie than some of us might be used to -- think of it as an open-faced pie -- but it's delicious nonetheless. If you have a pie craving this autumn, it's a way to satiate that. Price-wise I'd say it's not too bad at 370 yen including tax...fairly representative of what I would expect from.
The not so good
If you do find yourself really enjoying this pie option, it's only a limited-time thing, so the window to get your hands on it is pretty short. Keep that in mind, and if it sounds like a must-try to you then head into your nearest Tully's store while you can. Also, if you prefer a more encased pie, this probably won't be the best option for you since it's more open-faced -- it almost feels like a danish in comparison to a pie. Overall though, very tasty, and I did really appreciate that focus on domestic produce that this product incorporates. Hope you enjoy it if you do end up giving it a try! :)
