The description

This product is a Chili con carne Ballpark Dog, and it's a seasonal product which is on their menu for a limited time only. It's priced at 495 yen including tax.

The good

Tully's does a good job of releasing unique flavors of their classic Ballpark Dog throughout the year, and this chili con carne option merges two American favorites into one. As the name of the product suggests, you've got your standard Ballpark Dog which then comes topped with a generous amount of chili con carne. It's a very filling option probably owing to all the meat between the hot dog and the chili, so I think the price feels alright at just under 500 yen -- it's absolutely a meal in and of itself.

The not so good

I will say that this is a little bit messy to eat given that the chili con carne is a bit saucy/sloppy. When we make chili con carne at home it's typically something we serve over rice and eat with a spoon, and I didn't really think of it as a hot dog topping. Don't get me wrong, it's very tasty, but it's not the easiest to eat. If you do find yourself really enjoying it, obviously the usual issue stands that it's a limited time only thing and you'll only have a short window of time to get your hands on it. Overall though, a fun seasonal release from Tully's and I think expats craving some familiar flavors would get a kick out of this one. Happy eating, and I hope you enjoy it if you end up giving it a try.
