Places to visit in Niigata during spring: Ikutopia

If you will be visiting Niigata (or live here!) during the spring months, another great spot to visit is Ikutopia. I feel like they're best known for their illumination events, but they also have some really fantastic flower displays. Around Golden Week is when a lot of stuff is in bloom, but obviously it tends to be a bit crowded in that period. If possible, I would advise for the week before or the week after, and you should still have plenty of colorful flowers to appreciate.

It's also a great spot to check out if you have young kids, since they have various animals that they can interact with, like alpacas! Most of the year it's free admission, too, so it's an easy on the wallet day out.
