Places in Niigata to visit during spring: Echigo Hillside Park

Of all the places you could visit in Niigata during spring, one that I would have to highly recommend is Echigo Hillside Park. It's located in Nagaoka, and they have some absolutely gorgeous displays of flowers that all tend to be at their best around the Golden Week period. The tulips in particular are a highlight and they have a bunch of different types of them! 

It's a really great park if you have kids, too, as there's loads of wide open space and play equipment. Adult admission is 450 yen, but kiddos in junior high school and below receive free admission, so it ends up being a pretty economical day out.
