Job-hugging: the latest work trend

For a while a few years back, the "job trend" of the moment was quiet quitting. Basically, the vibe was that you'd just stick it out at a job you didn't like while doing only what the job required -- no extra tasks taken on, or going above and beyond.

Now though, I keep reading about the new "trend" which is called job hugging. This one is a little different, in that people are sticking like glue to their existing roles irrespective of whether they like their job or not, in huge part driven by the not-so-great job market in many places around the world right now.

I like my job here well enough, and although I wish the pay rate was higher, I think I am probably going to job hug for a while. A big part of it is the flexibility of hours and ability to work from home, which I think is a huge thing when you have kids. It's a reminder to me that not all job benefits are monetary!

Do you feel like you're a job hugger in the current climate, or are you actively looking for other options here?
